Menu: Variety of Appetizers – French fries, sliders, mashed potatoes spring rolls, dumplings – and drinks
Just a hop, skip and jump away from Dundas Square. If you go after 9pm there is plenty of free parking around every corner. From the TTC, it is right off Dundas Station. You can’t ask for a better spot for a restaurant.
The prices are fairly affordable for what the demographic of the restaurant is (middle class, 21-40 years). A single order of fries was 3.99, sliders 7.99, spring rolls 3.99 and dumplings 7.99. The drinks were fairly priced between 6.99-8.99.
The food is excellent. The fries were McDonald’s worthy – if your taste buds enjoy that grease. The fries are fresh and flavorful. The sliders are served with crispy potato chips – nice touch – and the patties are well seasoned. The dumplings are excellent. They are served with a sweet chili sauce, which definitely has a Asian kick to it. You get about 7 dumplings, which disappear fast. The spring rolls are the real highlight. In a spring roll shell mashed potato is added with sour cream, bacon and chives. It is absolutely unique and tasty. Only thing I suggest is that the mashed potato should be season a little more! Perhaps different flavors for the mashed potato would be nice!
Excellent value considering you are able to sit in a patio in the heart of Downtown, Toronto. The food is well priced and you can’t beat a summer day just maxin’ and chillaxin’!
There were not many patrons on a Sunday night so service was quick! The server told us a story about herself – she came from Edmonton to help est. Joey’s. She was friendly and it really made the night light and fun. In turn, my friend Pabalo asked the server to surprise him with three different drinks. She went 2/3 with the last one being Sangria which was not a fan favourite! Her attitude toward it was great and it was welcomed!
Sitting on the patio (which had somewhat of a roof on top of it was great! Music played in the background and it was just a great night. The light was just right so you could tell what you were eating. The music was soft enough as well so that a conversation could be had.
